The Battle of Berlin. Many a smart commander saw it as the lifeline for the European allies. For the soviets, it was the gateway to Britain. The soviets were massing as many units as they possibly could for the attack. Their job was to Encircle the city and bomb it to the ground. Many a survivor of such an attack will tell you, "It was if hell itself was coming to dance away on our souls." German and allied soldiers prepared defensive positions in, out and around the city, with every able soldier available to do so. The bombardment stated with V4 rocket launches on the defensive lines. Then came the tanks. Men still hear the rumble of treads, the bursts of gunfire and the squealing of the V4s as the bombardment pounded the defenses and the city it self. The outcome...
