Renegade 2 was the cancelled sequel to the original Renegade:

In which there was two conceptional versions...One that would bridge the gap between Red Alert 2 and the Tiberium Dawn timeline while the other was far more focused on the post RA2:YR era. The exact technological level he's referring to would the Scavengers, Ex-Soviet Forces who...Would eventually metamorphize into the Brotherhood of NOD. To go along with that...Here's the Flag of the Scavengers:
I mean...Given the amount of references II have in terms of named characters (One of them is literally Xanatos for Pete sake!), I can totally see that being a thing.
Well...It originally WAS verifiable, but then ironically enough the Talons wiped out the main archives where such knowledge was held in order to ascertain how much equipment the Cult was buying off of II.
Honestly, rather fitting…Everybody was throwing Foreign Aid every which why with barely a care…
I mean…The US and Chinese were often supplying the same Afghan Mujahideen Cells…And I mean PRC BTW, so something similar happening and because Red Alert's inherent nature of exaggeration…It makes sense a lot of sense and feels fitting.
That was actually something that happened relatively frequently in the old Campaign notes for what happens in the Middle East, with the Allies sending Engineers to C̶a̶p̶t̶u̶r̶e̶ ̶G̶L̶A̶ ̶P̶a̶l̶a̶c̶e̶s̶…Ahem, send Engineers to gain contact with local GLA Cells/Warlords to B̶r̶i̶b̶e̶ convince them of the merits of supporting the Allied cause.
Honestly...Not much of rewrite as you might think...Cause that's an exaggerated version of the Afghan Mujahedeen, which was a loose coalition of Warlords and Insurgent Cells:
Afghanistan's resistance movement originated in chaos and, at first, regional warlords waged virtually all of its fighting locally. As warfare became more sophisticated, outside support and regional coordination grew. The basic units of mujahideen organization and action continued to reflect the highly decentralized nature of Afghan society and strong loci of competing mujahideen and Pashtun tribal groups, particularly in isolated areas among the mountains.[14] Eventually, the seven main mujahideen parties allied as the political bloc called Islamic Unity of Afghanistan Mujahideen. However the parties were not under a single command and had ideological differences.
They were never a united force, and often came to blows do to infighting...And yet? They brought the Soviet Union to it's knees within the region.
You know...I never did understand the portrayal of the GLA in Paradox. Because of anything? They're one of the Minor Factions that make the Most sense to exist. The Era that Paradox draws from was the birthplace of the Islamic Insurgencies as we know them today, and they...Were...Everywhere. The most famous being in the Middle East and Central Asia, but they were spread as far as Burma and the Philippines.
And to be honest? Their portrayal is...Rather a disservice to those who fought among the Mujahideen, and those who fought against them as well. The Filipino Insurrection has been continuously fighting since 1969, probably for even longer even before Formalization/Unification of such groups. And it really doesn't make sense for them...Not to be able to have force projection of some capacity, why? Because despite all of the Support the Afghanistan Mujahideen received from foreign backers...
Although the mujahideen were aided by the Pakistani, American, Chinese and Saudi governments, the mujahideen's primary source of funding was private donors and religious charities throughout the Muslim world—particularly in the Persian Gulf. Jason Burke recounts that "as little as 25 per cent of the money for the Afghan jihad was actually supplied directly by states."
As little as 25% of their Funding actually came from nation states.
Well...Corsairs was a title commonly associated with Muslim Pirates for a time:
Heh…I could sorta see it being either called the Technical of the Seas…
Or the Marauder, given you know…Piracy.
Hmm...Could be a Placebo Effect sort of thing. You know, the whole idea that you believing something to be true has effects on you. That is what the Placebo Effect is right? It's been awhile since the last time I've thought about it.
Yeah, seems like a decent compromise I think...I mean, it uses something that the Cult haws experience in to compensate for their only barest understanding of it.
If that makes sense?
Don't really have much to contribute, Psionics were never something I had much forte on.
In case you were wondering…Though the images are long gone. Bruce Chen wasn’t some rando apparently. He's Bruce Lee, like…Literally just Bruce Lee but as a Janitor. To the point where they had a Portrait of Bruce Lee for the character.
For some reason…Honestly? Always sorta felt that was a bit…Insulting I guess. Feels like weird thing to do in hindsight.
Bob…Are you confusing the PAVN (People's Army of VietNam) with the PLA (People's Liberation Army) which is the army of the PRC (People's Republic of China)?
Granger, given the circumstances perhaps you should take a break a bit to cool off. Actually, perhaps more people should take five for a bit. Things are getting heated in a manner that is not good for the overall health of the project.
Oooooh yeah, it's a hard choice for the Reservists currently since their this...Slightly disjointed mess of RA1/RA2 Allies & Generals USA references.
Now in case your wondering, the IRL U.S. Military Assistance Command, Vietnam were the primary advisory and assistance apparatus of the War in Vietnam. Alongside military operations & logistics, MACV was also there to support Civil Development and Humanitarian Aid operations through CORDS (Civil Operations and Revolutionary Development Support) through it's pacification programs as part of the attempted Hearts & Mind campaigns:
Given the Allied larger emphasis on a Hearts & Mind campaign compared to IRL, such programs would likely be even more of a focus. Which also incidentally means that given the role Peacekeepers have, the more MACV/CORDS (Or their Paradox equivalents) in your region is given priority the more Peacekeepers you have in a region. Thus more Peacekeepers that can be...Diverted on a temporary basis towards more, proactive anti VC operations.
You could probably have these MACV/CORDS Outposts/Compounds follow the gradually transition of MACV Headquarters during the War:
Gradually shifting as MACV presence Escalates in the Region. Going from a Local Civilian Structure which has been...Commandeered (Voluntarily, which the Vietnamese Forces assure) for their use. Should a more substantial presence be needed, the structure will be torn down to make room for a more purpose built & usually prefabricated "Office". Should things Escalate to requiring a more Permanent presence, understanding that do to the risks involved the building will be dissembled and replaced with a Fortified Compound better suited to weathering the expected attacks that would befall a permanent posting.
And MLG...There's already president for having two or more versions of Maps that have different resource styles. C&C: Tiberian Fallout has both classic gatherable fields & Ore Nodes (Reworked into TCN Nodes) at once. With from what I've seen...Maps which use one, the other, or even Both at the same time.
Well do to having to break new ground for a lot of this stuff, me and Metal have been putting together idea for Expansions for Minor Factions for while now. Nothing is too concrete on that end, even the stuff that's already there could change if someone has a better idea that folks agree on. For example, one of the possible ideas on the II Expansion Unit would be to make it an Infantry Unit as a change of pace but that's for him to explain.
But...How does a Construction Vehicle perform the Role of an Expansion? I know it can Build Defensive Structures, but how does that help with job of expanding ones influence & control.
I guess Defenses can be argued to be just that but...
Wait...What would the problem of a Communications Skirmisher be?
So would that make the International Inc also their Expansion Vehicle? Or would they still have a separate Expansion Vehicle still too.
Hmm, I suppose the question then is should the Expansion Vehicles double as Defense Builders or should every Minor Faction also receive a Defense Constructor too?
